Six policemen suspended for dereliction of duty

Mathura: Six policemen were suspended on the
charge of dereliction of duty after an undertrail escaped from
their custody, a senior police officer said here today.

"The six policemen were suspended as the undertrial had
fled from their custody on Tuesday. An FIR has been lodged
against them. They will also face a departmental enquiry,"
Mathura Superintendent of Police Ram Lal Verma said.

The undertrial managed to escape from a court, where he
was brought for production before a magistrate. He is facing
charges under the Gangster Act, among other charges.
