Farrukhabad (UP): Hitting out at the ruling
BSP in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party has said corruption is
rampant in the state.
"Mafias and goonda elements are ruling the roost...There
is no welfare scheme worth its name operational in the state
and the ones that are being publicised and lauded by the state
government are the ones which are bogged by heavy grafts and
commission," leader of the Opposition in the state legislative
Assembly Shivpal Singh Yadav said at a party workers` meet in
minority-dominated Kayamganj area here yesterday.
The law and order situation in the state is pathetic.
Crimes against women are rising, the SP leader alleged.
He claimed that the minorities` representation in police
recruitment during the SP government was around 13 per cent,
while in the BSP rule it has come down to mere two per cent.
