SP hits out at UPA on black money, price rise and corruption
Agra: Attacking the UPA government on the
issues of black money and price rise Samajwadi Party on Tuesday
alleged that the corruption was from the government side and
those around it.
"The corruption is from the government side and those
around it in Delhi," SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav alleged
during the eighth national convention of the party here.
Yadav, who was elected as the national president of the
party for the eight consecutive term, said if corruption would
have been from any other side then people would be put behind
"This is my open allegation that the government`s
intention is to promote loot and plundering," he said while
speaking on price rise.
The SP chief alleged that the price rise could be
contained, but government`s will was lacking.
"Prime Minister and his senior ministers had said they
have no magic wand, which is very disappointing. If you can`t
stop price rise then why you are promoting it," he said.
On the issue of black money, Yadav alleged that the issue
has brought infamy for the entire nation.
"I have been told that the amount of black money stashed
in the foreign banks is such that if recovered back, not only
all the debts of the country can be paid, but some amount will
still be left for development," he said.
He alleged that the government was not willing to make
any effort to bring back the black money.
"The government knows the names of those having black
money but is not willing to tell. What is the reason is upto
you (people) to understand," he said.
He demanded that black money should be brought back and
education and treatment be made free.
Advocating reservation for Muslims in public and private
sectors, Yadav said their socio-economic status was very poor.
"This had been said by all commissions and committees set
up by the government that Muslims are backward, poor and
jobless. We demand reservation for them, right from government
jobs to business," he said.
He also attacked the Centre for "overlooking threats from
China and Pakistan."
"While China is issuing threats, the Delhi government
instead of replying is mum," he claimed.
Attacking the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh he alleged
that maximum corruption is in the state.
"The government, chief minister and ministers have become
examples of corruption," he said.
While people in the power were minting money, nothing
has been done for poor, farmers and unemployment, he said.
"Anna Hazare has also said there is maximum corruption in
UP and its an insult to the people of the state. While only
one person is indulging in corruption all are getting
insulted," he said.
He alleged that injustice and atrocities were at its
peak in the state and people were not being heard.
"The SP will not tolerate these things and will not wait
for government to complete its five years. We will remove this
government with the help of the people," he said.
