SP trying to murder Rahul Gandhi: Amar Singh
Rahul Gandhi`s convoy was attacked by Samajwadi Party`s youth wing in Allahabad University.
New Delhi: Expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Friday accused his former party of carrying out what he called a "murderous attack" on Rahul Gandhi during the young Congress leader`s recent visit to Uttar Pradesh.
In his latest blog, Amar Singh has made apparent references to Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and his bete noire Azam Khan and given vent to his ire against the two without naming them.
Amar Singh has accused them and the party of using and then discarding him when the purpose was served.
"Sometimes black balloons are hurled at the vehicle of a popular actress (Jaya Prada) of the country, and sometimes a murderous attack is made on Rahul Gandhi while he is going silently to the university complex for a lecture; this is undignified politics," Amar Singh wrote on his blog.
Activists of SP`s youth wing, protesting against Congress-led UPA`s "failure" to restore students` union in Allahabad University, had clambered up his car in a security breach on Monday.
Though making several accusations against Mulayam Singh on his blog, the former SP leader has not named him.
"If somebody stays loyal for 14 years he gets the status of number 2 but declared a `pimp and supplier` when he opposes the opposition to computers, English and tractors," Amar Singh said.
His reference is to the SP manifesto for the 2009 Lok Sabha polls which said that the party was against the use of computers, the English language and tractors for farming.
The former SP general secretary also takes digs at Mulayam Singh Yadav for associating with an MLA (apparent reference to Amar Mani Tripathi) who makes a woman pregnant and murders her when he changes parties to make him chief minister.
He accuses Mulayam Singh of later calling the incident a "small incident".
"To save the slipping votebase and to return to the limelight a former senior leader (reference to himself) becomes a middleman," Amar Singh alleged.
