Basti: Samajwadi Party would not bail
out the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in
case it falls under its own weight, the party`s Uttar Pradesh
chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Saturday.

"If the Congress government falls under its own weight,
SP would not save it," Yadav told reporters here.

The SP leader said a decision in this regard has been
taken at the recent meeting of the parliamentary board of
the party.

Asked why SP had extended support to the UPA government
earlier, Akhilesh, son of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, said
it was to keep BJP out of power.

On Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi`s statement
that the state of affairs in UP fills him with anger, he said
the Mayawati government would not be in existence today even
if one central government department was really angry.

He claimed SP was far ahead of Congress in its yatra
with the party already covering 100 Assembly constituencies in
the state. Besides the rath yatra, cycle yatras were also
going on, he said.
