Allahabad: A special written test will be held next year for more than 200 SC/OBC candidates, who had appeared in the prelims of the Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Services but not called for the mains, officials said on Saturday.

The special test will be held on three consecutive days from January 7 to January 9 for 151 Scheduled Caste and 114 Other Backward Class candidates, Allahabad High Court said in a statement. The exam is being held in accordance with a Supreme Court order.

The apex court on November 15 ordered that 31 vacancies in UP Higher Judiciary -- 21 for SCs and 10 for OBCs – be filled up by conducting a special test for the candidates from the respective caste groups, who had appeared in the preliminary tests this year but were not been called for the main written examination.

Admit cards for the test are being issued, but aspirants who fail to get the same in time can secure duplicate admit cards from the High Court's Selection Appointment Cell, situated inside the court premises, between January 3 and January 7, the statement added.
