SSB jawan held in villagers death case

Lakhimpur: A jawan of Sashastra Seema
Bal (SSB) has been arrested in Sampurna Nagar area here in
connection with the death of two villagers in a firing by the
paramilitary force personnel, police said today.

SSB jawan Sher Singh was arrested yesterday in connection
with the killings of two residents of Trikolia village in a
firing by SSB personnel on August 2 last year, they said.

The incident had taken place after villagers and SSB men
clashed over a petty dispute.

An FIR of murder and rioting had been lodged at
Sampurnanagar police station in which SSB Deputy Commander M S
Paddha and nearly a dozen other jawans were implicated.
