New Delhi: The suicide of a senior IAS officer under mysterious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh generated heat in the Lok Sabha on Monday with the Samajwadi Party demanding dismissal of the BSP government in the state.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Shailendra Kumar (SP) alleged that senior officer Harminder Raj Singh had taken the extreme step after he was scolded by the Chief Minister and the Cabinet Secretary.
"The suicide note of the officer has disappeared under mysterious circumstances ... there should be a CBI probe. The government should be dismissed," said Kumar, who was supported by party colleagues.

Singh was Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Planning, which handled a series of important issues like land allocation to private colonisers for integrated townships and conversion of land use for development schemes.

Jagadamika Pal (Congress) also demanded a CBI inquiry alleging that the UP police could not make an impartial probe.
This was strongly protested by members of the BSP, including leader Dara Singh Chauhan.

Raising another issue, Raja Ram Pal (Congress) demanded a fair deal to the 15 crore people belonging to nomadic tribes.
