Lucknow: Team Anna is set to present Gandhian
activist Anna Hazare`s views on the Bundelkhand region at a
meeting in Banda on October 17, a member of the national core
committee of India Against Corruption (IAC) said here today.
Hazare`s views would be presented by the members as part
of their seven-day tour of the state, which starts from
October 16 at Aligarh, Sanjay Singh, said.
People of the region would be apprised of the Gandhian`s
perspective on Bundelkhand, which has remained backward even
years after independence and despite the fact that it is very
rich in natural resources, he said.
Members of Team Anna, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodiya and
Kumar Vishwas are scheduled to address meetings in Aligarh
(October 16), Lucknow (October 18), Gorakhpur (October
19), Meerut (October 21) and Agra (October 22), he said.
Kiran Bedi is also expected to attend some of the
meetings, he said.
The main objective of Team Anna`s visit to Uttar Pradesh
is to bring the youth closer to the anti-corruption movement
and prepare the ground work for launching a campaign in case
the government fails to bring the Lokpal bill in the coming
session of Parliament, he said.
