‘Those at helm in UP filling coffers in last days’
Congress alleged that those at the helm in UP were hell bent on filling their coffers in the last days of the Mayawati government.
Lucknow: Congress on Monday alleged that those at
the helm in Uttar Pradesh were hell bent on filling their
coffers in the last days of the Mayawati government by
"extorting money" from innocent people.
It demanded the chief minister`s resignation citing
incidents like the one in Chandauli where road transport
staff allegedly killed a truck driver who refused pay bribe,
and the rape of a girl in a police station in Mahoba last
"These incidents prove that she has lost grip on the
administration and it is very shameful if she continues in
office any further," UPCC spokesman Subodh Srivasatava said.
In Chandauli, a truck driver was killed allegedly by Road
Transport Office (RTO) staff after he refused to pay bribe
during a vehicle checking drive in Naubatpur locality in
Sayyadraza area of the district.
Srivastava demanded that the guilty RTO and his
subordinate staff be dismissed immediately and sent to jail.
