Three arrested for extortion in Noida

Three persons, including two media persons, have been arrested for allegedly making obscene video of a Delhi based businessman and demanding Rs 4 lakh from him.

Noida: Three persons, including two media persons, have been arrested for allegedly making obscene video of a Delhi based businessman and demanding Rs 4 lakh from him.

"Manoj who works at a news channel, Shalini, employed with a magazine and a housewife Suman were arrested," said Shivram Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Their accomplice Neeraj is on the run.

According to the police, Mandavli resident Avdesh Mishra is a local leader and a businessman. He was acquainted with his neighbour Suman.

Suman, along with her friends, allegedly hatched a plan to blackmail Mishra.
On December 20, she called Mishra to a shopping mall and from there they went to a guest house. Suman allegedly made an obscene video showing Mishra in a compromising position with her.
Later, Suman and her accomplices demanded Rs 4 lakh for the video from Mishra and threatened to make his video public if he does not comply.

As he was not having that much money they took away his car, Rs 12000 cash and ATM card, police said.

The victim then lodged a robbery report at Sector 39 police station.
When police started investigation the matter was exposed.

Manoj has confessed to his involvement in the crime, police said.
