Bareilly: Three persons, including a father-son duo, drowned in Garra River near Shahjahanpur city, police said here on Monday.
Nabiullah (45) and Majid got trapped in a fishing net and drowned in the river while they were fishing last evening.
Police said when Nabiullah's son Nihaal (8) saw his father drowing, he jumped into the river to save him but drowned himself.
Bodies of Nabiullah and Majid have been fished out by PAC divers, they said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeshwar Singh said efforts were being made to fish out Nihaal's body.
