Ghaziabad: Two brothers have been
arrested for allegedly murdering a youth, who was in love with
their sister, police said here Tuesday.
Dharmender and Ranbeer, residents of Chauna village,
were arrested yesterday for murdering Pramod (24), SSP
Raghubir Lal said.
Pramod was in love with Rekha, cousin sister of the
accused. They had threatened him with dire consequences and
warned him to stay away from her.
On June 8, both the accused called Pramod and the trio
consumed alcohol after which the two strangled Pramod to death
and threw his body in the Ganga Canal.
The body of Pramod was recovered after six days and
identified by his family members, who had earlier lodged a
missing complaint.
Both the accused were produced before a magistrate,
who sent them to 14 days of judicial custody.
