Two criminals shot dead in Muzaffarnagar

Two criminals, carrying a cash reward of Rs 12,00 on their head, were shot dead by the police in an encounter at Barwala village here, police said Tuesday.

Muzaffarnagar: Two criminals, carrying a
cash reward of Rs 12,00 on their head, were shot dead by the
police in an encounter at Barwala village here, police said
Tuesday.

Amit Barwala and Papan were shot dead in the gunfight
with the police at Barwala village in the district last night,
SP (Rural) Hiralal said.

Three policemen, including a Sub-Inspector, were also
injured in the encounter, he said, adding the two were
involved in over two dozen criminal cases.

Police has recovered two pistols, one hand grenade,
three country-made bombs, large quantity of cartridges and
also impounded a car from their possession.

On a tip off that the two criminals had abducted and
killed a witness of a murder case Brijender, police
challenged them and in the exchange of fire shot them dead.
