Lucknow: Two persons were killed in rain
related incidents in Uttar Pradesh, even as major rivers of
the state continue to swell.
A man was killed when a wall collapsed due to rains in
Kannauj, while another died in a similar incident in Hatras.
According to Central Water commission (CWC) report,
rainfall of 40.6 mm was received in Raebareli, 11.6 mm in
Kannauj and 7.2 mm in Shahjahanpur.
Water levels in major rivers like Ganga, Ghagra and
Gomti continue to rise but all are below the danger mark, it
While Ganga is rising in Varanasi, Gomti is
rising in Fatehgarh, Gumatia (Kannauj), Ankinghat (Kanpur),
Chatnag (Allahabad), Mirzapur, and while Ramganga river is
rising in Bareilly.
Similarly, Gomti is rising in Lucknow Jaunpur while
Sharda river is on the rise in Pallia Kalan (Kheri) and Ghagra
is rising in Ayodhya and Turtipar (Ballia).
