Two persons were today shot dead by unidentified persons allegedly over an old enmity here, police said.

Lakshmi (65), a retired school teacher, and Fateram
(50) were shot dead in a passenger bus by five assailants of
Kharaut village, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) B D
Paulson said.

The incident occurred when the two victims were
travelling to Mathura to attend a court case.

Old enmity is believed to be the cause behind the
murder, the SSP said, adding efforts are on to nab the
culprits, who later escaped on their motorcycles.
