Mainpuri: Two judges here have lodged
complaints with police against unknown persons for calling
them up on their personal phones and threatening to deliver
judgements favourable to them.
Additional District and Sessions judges S B Sharma and
Lallu Singh have lodged FIRs with the Kotwali police station
saying that they received calls on their mobile and landline
phones from unknown persons on August 2.

According to police, the callers used abusive language
and threated the two judges to act on their dictates in
particular cases or face dire consequences.

ADJ Lallu Singh told PTI today that while he sent written
information to Kotwali police station the same day, the FIR
was not registered till August 9. The complaint by Justice
Sharma was also sent to the Kotwali police soon after the
incident.
Both judges said police should identify the callers from
the numbers given and take action.

Terming the incident as very serious, Superintendent of
Police Happy Guptan said all efforts were being made to
identify the callers and bring them to book.
