Bhopal: Firebrand former BJP leader, Uma Bharti, Monday said that she is like a `blank cheque` for
the saffron party in Uttar Pradesh and it can be encashed in
any way it wanted for bringing the party back into power in
the politically important state next year.
"I am like a blank cheque for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
It can be encashed in any way it wanted to bring it back to
power in that state," Bharti told reporters informally after a
seminar jointly organised by Jago Hind Sangthan and Kisan
Sangarsh Morcha.

"I had a talk with the senior BJP leader LK Advani and
the party President Nitin Gadkari yesterday and I told them
they can utilise my services in any way they want in Uttar
Pradesh," she said.

To a question on returning back to the BJP, she said
that at present she has no intention of going back to the BJP
and added that she has also told Advani and Gadkari humbly
that she wanted to stay away from the politics for some time.
She also said that at present she would fight for the
farmers cause.

On the issue of farmers committing suicide as their
crops got damaged due to frost and cold wave, Bharti said that
the situation in Madhya Pradesh is fast resembling that in Vidarbha and Telangana in this regard.

Both the State and the Centre should avoid playing
politics on the issue and make a combined effort to stop
farmers from committing suicide, she said.
