The UP BJP termed Union budget as historic, saying it has adopted the motto of the development of entire country in letter and spirit.

Lucknow: The UP BJP on Thursday termed Union budget as historic, saying it has adopted the motto of the development of entire country in letter and spirit.

"The budget presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely is historic for Uttar Pradesh. For the first time it seems to be the budget for the entire country and it reflects from the announcements made in it," BJP state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
He said that through this budget, the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened new gates for the development of Uttar Pradesh.

Pathak said in the wake of Encephalitis, which claims hundreds of life in eastern parts of the state, setting up of a new AIIMS has been taken care in the new budget.

He said that development of Buddhist circuit mentioned in the budget would definitely benefit the eastern Uttar Pradesh in terms of tourism.

The spokesman said that proposal to develop ghats in Varanasi, Allahabad and Kanpur under "Namami Gange" was an appreciable step.

He said that development of textile cluster in Bareilly and Lucknow to promote zardozi and chikankari works has been mentioned in the budget.
In addition to this, fund has been allocated for Lucknow metro project, he said.

A scheme has been launched in the name of Madan Mohan Malviya for education for the first time, Pathak said, adding that besides Rs 100 crore has been arranged for modernisation of madarsas.
