UP: 22 injured in clash

including eight women, were injured as rival factions clashed
in Manikpur village near here on Monday, police said.

The two factions have a longstanding dispute over a road
in their village which is presently in court.

The trouble started this morning when one of the groups
tried to reconstruct a wall which had been pulled down by the
other some time ago. Following this, supporters of both sides
came on the road in large numbers and clashed with each other,
they said.

Twenty-two people were injured in the incident, the
police said, adding the condition of three -- Bantu (8), Shyma
Devi (26), who is pregnant, and Chandravati (60) -- was stated
to be serious.

Ten persons have been arrested in this connection, they
said.
