CSM Nagar: Three policemen were arrested
today after they clashed with BJP supporters over a traffic jam here, police said.
"The incident took place when a bus carrying UP policemen
was going to Hardoi from Sant Kabir Nagar. As a heavy traffic
jam blocked the road, a heated argument followed between the police and supporters of BJP candidate, Rashmi Singh from Amethi constituency," Superintendent of Police, Vijay Singh Meena said.
The situation took an ugly turn when one of the BJP supporters allegedly pelted stones on the bus, following which
the policemen travelling in the bus beat them with lathis, he
said.
Local police reached the spot and arrested three policemen Gyandnera Kumar, Amit Kumar and DD Ram, he added.
Action would be taken against those found guilty, he
said.
