UP: 3 country-made bombs recovered from car outside Raj Bhawan

One person was on Saturday taken into custody by the police for trying to enter the high-security Governor's house in a car that contained three country-made bombs.

Lucknow: One person was on Saturday taken into custody by the police for trying to enter the high-security Governor's house in a car that contained three country-made bombs.

One Ranjit Sharma was taken into custody after security personnel at gate number 2 stopped his white Swift Dzire car. Upon being checked, three bombs were recovered from it, police said.

The car was carrying some material of the horticulture department team for a flower exhibition scheduled in Raj Bhawan premises on February 21 and 22, they said.

Upon recovering the bombs, the security personnel informed the police, who took Sharma away for questioning, they said.

In the preliminary interrogation, Sharma has informed that the bombs were crackers meant for a wedding ceremony that he attended in Mohanlalganj area last night and had forgotten to take them out, police added.
