UP appoints retired judge to probe violence during farmers`

Uttar Pradesh government today appointed Justice (retd) R.D Nimesh to probe the violence during the agitation by farmers in Aligarh on August 14 demanding more compensation for land being acquired for Yamuna Expressway project.

Expressway project.

An official spokesman here said the Commission has been
asked to submit its report in six months.

On August 15, the government had ordered a judicial
probe into the incidents during farmers` agitation which left
four persons dead.
