Mayawati today reviewed the law and order situation, asking
the administration to be vigilant and not to allow anti-social
elements exploit the sensitive issue to disrupt peace.

The Chief Minister asked the officials in different
districts as well as the intelligence units to remain alert
and maintain a strict vigil on all important religious, social
and historical sites to foil possible designs of mischievous
and anti-social elements.

Mayawati also asked all District Magistrates to ensure
that anti-social elements do not get an opportunity to exploit
this sensitive issue to spoil communal harmony.

"It should also be ensured that rumour mongers are
not allowed a chance to mislead the people over the issue,"
she said.

Directing the officials to ensure peace and order in the
state at any cost, Mayawati said strict action be taken
against anyone taking law into their hands and creating law
and order problem.
