Etah: A court here has directed that an FIR be registered on an alleged sexual assault on a woman after she approached it claiming that the police refused to file the complaint in the matter.

The alleged incident took place on June 29 when the accused, identified as Puspendra, barged into the woman's house after finding her alone and attempted to rape her, police said.

The woman alleged that when she went to the police station in Mirechi kotwali the next day to file a complaint against the accused, the officials refused to lodge a case.

The woman then submitted an application to SSP, but did not get any success, she claimed.

Finally, she approached the Court, which ordered the police for the registration of FIR.
