UP demands Rs 2,351 crore more from Centre for flood hit areas
Uttar Pradesh has demanded the Centre to provide Rs 2,351 crore for infrastructure and relief-related works in flood affected areas of the state.

Centre to provide Rs 2,351 crore for infrastructure and
relief-related works in flood affected areas of the state.
"Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta Wednesday wrote a letter
demanding from the Centre to provide an amount of Rs 2,351
crore for relief works in UP," an official spokesman said
He said that the fund has been demanded for repair,
reconstruction and rebuilding of roads, bridges, embankments
and other infrastructure facilities damaged by the floods and
also to provide relief to the affected people.
The chief secretary has also requested that a Central
team should be sent to the state at the earliest, so that
there was no delay in the release of requisite funds.
He said that though the affected districts had been
provided relief in the form of immediate assistance, but the
infrastructure facilities damaged by the floods needed to be
Chief Minister Mayawati had already written two
letters to the Prime Minister requesting funds for relief
works in flood affected areas.
