UP farmer shoots self after crop failure

A 35-year-old farmer allegedly shot himself in Shekhupur Ajeet village here after his crop was destroyed due to unseasonal rain, police said Tuesday.

Hathras: A 35-year-old farmer allegedly shot himself in Shekhupur Ajeet village here after his crop was destroyed due to unseasonal rain, police said Tuesday.

Dilip Kumar shot himself with his licensed revolver after his standing crop was destroyed due to rain, Hathras Junction police station incharge Mohammed Yunus Siddiqui said.

Rajkumar, father of the deceased said the victim had taken loan to plant the crop, he added.
