New Delhi: Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Naik, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Wednesday.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said it was a courtesy call.
A senior BJP leader and a former Union Minister, Naik was appointed as Governor of Uttar Pradesh in July this year by the Narendra Modi Government.
Naik took over from BL Joshi, who was perceived to be a close confidante of the Gandhi family, and was asked to resign on June 17.
A three-time parliamentarian, Naik, 80, has the rare distinction of being the only minister who completed five years as Petroleum and Natural gas minister in one government.
