UP govt gives nod to hike in salary of class four employees

UP govt decides to implement a revised pay scale band for class four employee as per Sixth Pay Commission.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday decided to implement a revised pay scale band for class four employee as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, a move that will benefit three lakh workers.

"The state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati in its meeting has decided to extend a salary band of Rs 5200-20200 and grade pay of Rs 1,800 to all class four employees," principal secretary information Vijay Shanker Pandey told reporters here.
He said that while the decision would benefit nearly three lakh employees, it will create an additional burden of Rs 350 crore per annum on the state exchequer.

"With this, the state government has decided to stop
recruitment to class four posts with immediate effect," Pandey
said.

The cabinet also approved a proposal to extend revised
pay scale to teachers and equivalent cadre of agriculture
universities in the state.
It also approved a proposal to give advances to the
state employees for construction or purchase of house, car,
two-wheeler and personal comupter as per the recommendations
of the state pay committee, he said.
