UP: Man gets 7 yrs RI in attempt to murder case

A local court has sentenced a person to seven years rigorous imprisonment in a two-year-old attempt to murder case.

person to seven years rigorous imprisonment in a two-year-old
attempt to murder case.

Additional District and Session`s Judge M P Singh held
Ashok Kumar guilty of attempting to murder his brother
Satyendra Singh during a panchayat meeting in 2009.

A fine of Rs 10,000 was also slapped by the court.
In June, 2009, a panchayat meeting was held to settle a
property dispute between the two brothers during which Ashok
opened fire at his brother, who escaped unhurt, prosecution
said.
