Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Election
Commission has ordered repolling in 199 polling booths across
38 districts in the state in view of reports of clashes and
booth capturing during voting in the first phase of the
ongoing panchayat polls.
The repolling will take place in all districts barring
Allahabad, Farrukhabad and Mainpuri tomorrow along with the
second phase of voting for the three-tier panchayat polls, an
official said today.

Though repolling has also been ordered in 18 booths in
Allahabad, 33 of Farrukhabad and 15 in Mainpuri, their
District Magistrates expressed inability to hold repolling
along with the second phase as the number of booths is high,
he said.
"The district magistrates of these three districts
have been asked to finalise the date of repoll as per their
convenience," he added.

The state EC also issued the list of candidates
elected unopposed, which included 75,379 gram panchayat
members, 27 gram pradhans, 297 kshetra panchayat members and
six zila panchayat members.
