UP Police reject honour killing, say couple committed suicide

Muzaffarnagar: The girl and the boy whose bodies were found on railway tracks near Dorala railway police station here, was a case of suicide and not honour killing, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased couple identified as Vivek Kumar (22) and Ashu Rani (19) was found dead on railway tracks near Dorala railway police station on Sunday and a case of honour killing was suspected, they said.

The couple had fallen in love and eloped as their families were against the relationship, police said, adding that the victims committed suicide by jumping off the train.

Further probe is on in the matter, police said.
