UP polls: 28 nominations filed on 2nd day

28 candidates entered the fray on the second day of filing nominations for the first phase of Assembly elections in UP slated for February 8.



Lucknow: 28 candidates entered the fray on
the second day of filing nominations for the first phase of
Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh slated for February 8.

They included 11 of the ruling BSP and three each of BJP,
SP and Congress," Additional Chief Electoral Officer Anita
Meshram said.

One candidate each of RCP, Rashtriya Swambhiman Party,
Janvadi Party socialist and Rashtriya Maulik Adhikari party
filed their papers besides four independents, she said.

55 seats spread over 10 districts of Sitapur, Barabanki,
Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Shrawasti, Balrampur,
Gonda, Siddharth Nagar and Basti figure in the first phase of
polls.
