UP polls: Over 180 more enter fray

Over 180 candidates filed their nominations for the first two phases of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election.

Lucknow: Over 180 candidates, including
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Lalji Verma on Tuesday filed their
nominations for the first two phases of the Uttar Pradesh
assembly election.

As many as 166 papers were filed for the first phase
and 21 for the second round, joint Chief Electoral Officer
Anita Meshram told reporters here.
A total of 311 aspirants have entered the fray for the
first phase so far and 28 for the second leg, she said.

Lalji Verma submitted his papers for Katehari assembly
seat in Ambedkar Nagar district.
