UP: RLD leader Jayant Chowdhary resigns

RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary on Tuesday resigned from the membership of the UP Assembly opting to retain his Parliamentary seat of Mathura.

Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary on Tuesday resigned from the membership of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly opting to retain his Parliamentary seat of Mathura.
Chaudhary, son of RLD President Ajit Singh who was recently elected from Maath assembly seat, today submitted his resignation to the principal secretary of the Vidhan Sabha, RLD Spokesman Anil Dubey said.
"People want Jayant Chaudhary to remain member of the Lok Sabha therefore he sumbitted his resignation from the Assembly," Dubey said.

To a question on who would be fielded by the party from Maath which also falls in the Parliamentary constituency of Jayant Chaudahry, Dubey said that it would be decided by Ajit Singh later.
