Lucknow: In another shocking news from Uttar Pradesh, 15 Other Backward Castes villagers stripped five Dalit women members of a family, paraded them naked, caned them and then exhibited them on a highway.

And the reason for this atrocity was that a villager's daughter had allegedly eloped with one of the Dalit women's son.

Baring the ugly face of 'developing' India, one of the victims told the UP Police that OBC villagers dragged them out of their houses on Saturday, stripped them in the middle of the village, beat them with slippers and took them to a tea stall so that passersby could sneer at them.

The incident took place in Shahjahanpur district's Hareva area.

The women were paraded naked on a highway for around four hours.

According to reports, police have arrested four persons, including the father of the girl.

Fifteen people have been booked in the incident.

An inquiry has also been ordered into the case.
