Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party has termed
the hike in urea prices by UPA government as anti-farmer and
said it would create an additional burden on farmers already
reeling under price rise.
"An arbitrary hike of Rs 15 per sack in price of urea
from April will create an additional burden on the farmers and
their situation will deteriorate further," BSP`s UP president
Swami Prasad Maurya said yesterday.
He alleged that with this decision of the UPA
government it is clear that the policies of Congress were
anti-farmer and it was not concerned about farmers and common
man.
The hike will not only result in loss to agriculture
sector but will also affect production, he said.
Maurya demanded that the hike should be rolled back
immediately.
