VHP criticises posters depicting Sonia, Rahul as gods

Lucknow: Taking strong exception to posters
put up by the Congress in Allahabad today depicting its president Sonia Gandhi as Bharat Mata and general secretary Rahul Gandhi as Lord Krishna, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has
demanded action against those behind the act.
"It is most unfortunate that the Congress party, which
appear to have lost its mental balance, has depicted its
leaders as Bharat Mata and Lord Krishna in the posters which
have been put up in Allahabad for the party`s meeting today,"
VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma told PTI over phone from Ayodhya.

"Stern action should be taken against those behind these
posters," Sharma said, adding, the party has failed to
differentiate between humans and gods.

Claiming that religious leaders have reacted strongly to
the issue, Sharma said they would discuss the issue tomorrow.
He said the Congress-led UPA government had earlier
termed both Lord Ram and Ram Setu as imaginary but now have
conveniently compared their leaders to the gods.
