Greater Noida (UP): Gangster Sunder Bhati, who is wanted in a number of cases including murder, was arrested by police from Ghangola village here after a brief encounter, police said on Tuesday.
Bhati was arrested yesterday while his accomplice Singhraj Bhati managed to flee. Both were carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on their heads, they said.
The 'Sunder gang' has 41 cases against it on charges of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, abduction, ransom and other serious offences, police said.
"Trap was laid upon getting information about Sunder Bhati's movement in the area and he was arrested. His gang is registered as D-11 gang in police records," said SSP Preetinder Singh.
He was earlier arrested by the Noida police in 2012 and was released on bail later that year.
Thereafter, he was involved in five crimes since his release on bail, said SP (Greater Noida) Brijesh Kumar Singh.
