Wanted UP man arrested in Chennai

Lucknow: A history sheeter of Kanpur
carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, Israr Ahmed
alias Paggal, has been arrested by the Special Task Force of
the Uttar Pradesh Police in Chennai.

Home department sources said today that Israr, who has
39 cases against him, was located using electronic
surveillance and arrested yesterday with the help of Chennai
Police by an STF team from Madhavram.

A resident on Beconganj, Kanpur, he has 39 cases of
dacoity, loot, murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, loot
and extortion against him in Kanpur, Unnao, Muzaffarnagar and
Lucknow.

Thrice detained under the NSA and twice under the
Gangsters Act, the police had declared a cash reward on him in
2006.

Sources said he had started living in Chennai and was
involved in the plastic business.
