Lucknow: A shameful act of Uttar Pradesh police came to light after a complainant was allegedly forced to clean the shoes of cops in order to get his complaint registered.
According to report, the man had gone to the police station in Muzzafarnagar to file an FIR over his missing mobile phone, but instead he was asked by the cops to shine their shoes in order to get his complaint filed.
The video, released by ANI, shows three policemen sitting inside the police station while a man, allegedly the complainant, is seen polishing a shoe. The video has gone viral and it has outraged the locals.
Reacting to the incident, Superintendent Of Police Santosh Kumar said that they have ordered a probe into the incident and action will be initiated against the guilty.
"The Muzaffarnagar shoe polishing incident has been brought to our notice. A probe has been ordered in the matter. Action will be taken against the guilty," Kumar was quoted as saying.
