Mathura: The Samajwadi party on Sunday expressed
confidence of winning the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls due
early next year, alleging that people were fed up with Chief
Minister Mayawati`s "corrupt regime".
"We are confident of forming the government in UP next
year. People want change and they are fed up with BSP`s
corrupt regime," state president of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh
Yadav said here.
"Besides, people are watching Mayawati wasting public
money in setting up her own statues," he added.
Slamming the BSP government for "ignoring" farmers in the
district, Yadav promised that his party would give "top
priority" to the agricultural sector if voted back to power.
He also ruled out joining hands with former BJP leader
Kalyan Singh for the upcoming polls.
