Lucknow: After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, his aide Amit Shah has hit out at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

"Congress thinks the Prime Minister`s chair is Pappu`s birthright. But this is a democracy, you need people`s blessings, and people`s blessings are with Narendra Modi," said Shah, who is the BJP`s in-charge of politically crucial Uttar Pradesh.

The critics of Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi use the names `Pappu` and `Feku` respectively on social media.

A news channel has quoted Shah as mocking the Congress for not announcing the name of its PM candidate: "The Congress has no leaders, how will it run the country? We have declared our PM candidate (Narendra Modi) now. Who will be the Congress candidate? Pappu? No...they won`t make Pappu their candidate as they are afraid of losing. They could have named Manmohan Singh but won`t do that."
Shah has been extensively touring Uttar Pradesh since his appointment as the BJP general secretary in-charge of the party`s affairs in Uttar Pradesh, which sends 80 members to the Lok Sabha.
