Lucknow: To ensure that BJP comes to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the state party unit on Thursday said it would not let anyone feel ignored and give responsibility to all big and small leaders as part of its poll strategy.

"We will activate all workers by giving them responsibility as per their ability and take everyone along," state BJP in-charge Om Prakash Mathur said after inaugurating digital membership campaign of the party in the state.

Referring to the party's victory in Maharashtra and Haryana, he exuded confidence that the streak would continue in UP as well and asserted that Modi wave still persists across the country.

The programme was also addressed by national Vice-President and central incharge of membership campaign Dinesh Sharma, national co-incharge of the campaign Vinay Sahastrabudhe and state President Laxmi Kant Bajpai.

Sahastrabudhe said that since the campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level on November 1, so far 55 lakh people have become members.

Bajpai said that a target of making 1.5 crore members in the state has been fixed.
