Woman drug smuggler gets 5 years imprisonment

A local court has sentenced a woman to five years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 for smuggling drugs.

woman to five years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs
20,000 for smuggling drugs.

Special Judge (Gangster) Gaurav Kumar yesterday
sentenced Sitara Devi, a resident of Nakkhighat, to five years
imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 for smuggling heroin, he
said.

Devi and three other women were booked under the
Gangster Act by Jaitpura police on August 8, 1997.

In a charge sheet filed against Devi and her
accomplices, the police said that she was the leader of a
10-member gang, who has allegedly been smuggling heroin in
Bihar, Rajasthan and a few districts of Uttar Pradesh.
