Azamgarh: A woman allegedly committed suicide
by self-immolating after setting her three minor daughters on
fire in Deedarganj area here, police said on Thursday.
"25-year-old Lalita immolated herself after setting her
three daughters -- Khushi (5), two-and-a-half year old Muskan
and eight-month-old Juhi -- on fire yesterday," Circle Officer
Shailendra Kumar Rai said.
While Lalita died on the spot, the girls were rushed to
the district hospital where they were declared brought dead.
The reason behind the woman taking the extreme step is yet
to be known, police said.
