Youth aarrested for sending SMSs about Ayodhya case

A youth was arrested for allegedly sending inflammatory text messages in the backdrop of verdict on Ayodhya title suit, police said Monday.

Indore: A youth was arrested for allegedly
sending inflammatory text messages in the backdrop of verdict
on Ayodhya title suit, police said Monday.

Thirty-one-year old Shahzad Khan was arrested from the
city`s Chhatripura Police Station area last night for sending
inflammatory SMS to to more than 100 persons, they said.

The police have also seized his cellphone.

A case has been registered against the accused under
Section 153 (a) (promoting enmity between two groups) of IPC and relevant sections of IT Act, they said.
Earlier, the city police registered two cases in
connection with inflammatory SMSes against unknown persons.

The verdict on Ayodhya title suit, expected to be
pronounced by Allahabd High Court on September 24, was stayed
by Supreme Court for a week following a petition filed by
retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi urging to postpone
the verdict.

The SC will hear the petition tomorrow.
