Youth dies in stampede at Army recruitment drive

A youth was killed and two others injured after a stampede broke out during an Army recruitment drive at a stadium.

Agra: A youth was killed and two others injured after a stampede broke out during an Army recruitment drive at a stadium here on Saturday.
Dharam Veer (18), a resident of Jaitpur Tappal in Aligarh district, was trampled to death in the stampede that occurred after a barricade gave way due to the pressure of a large number of aspirants who had turned up at Agra Sports Stadium, police said.
"The deceased youth`s family has been informed about the incident and the body has been sent for post-mortem," they said, adding that the injured were being treated at the Army hospital.

The Army has not issued any statement so far on the incident.
