Two policemen have been suspended and a magisterial inquiry ordered into the death of a youth, who allegedly jumped off a building when four personnel chased to arrest him.

District Magistrate Mukesh Meshram on Tuesday said the administration has taken a serious note and an inquiry has
been ordered into the incident.
Following a police complaint filed by the youth`s family members, sub-inspector Nandlal and constable Viresh Kumar, who were allegedly involved in the case were suspended, while the other two are yet to be identified, Anwarganj Police station Circle officer Samir Saurabh said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused policemen, who are at large.

A day after Diwali, a police team went to a building to apprehend the group of five men, who were gambling and fighting after consuming alcohol at 3.00 am.

One of the five men, Sameer Kumar Nigam (27), panicked and allegedly jumped off the roof of a three-storey building to escape arrest. He died at the spot.

On the basis of the complaint of Sameer`s family, a murder case was registered against the four policemen.
