1.15 cr devotees take part in Kanwar mela

Dehra Dun: A record number of nearly 1.15 cr
Kanwarias participated in this year`s Kanwar mela, that
concluded here today with the offerings of holy water of
river Ganges at various Shiva temples.

This is the highest number of devotees the mela has ever
witnessed, SSP Haridwar Sanjay Gunjyal said.

In 2007, nearly 63 lakh Kanwarias participated in the
mela while in 2008, 70 lakh Kanwarias had participated and in
2009, 76 lakh Kanwarias participated.
